Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Amrutkaal ("we", "us") collects, uses,
and protects your personal data when you use our website at
www.amrutkaal.com and our app at
app.www.amrutkaal.com. We comply with the Digital Personal
Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and applicable global data protection
laws.
What data we collect
When you browse the public panchang site
- No personal data. The site is fully usable without signing in.
- Anonymous analytics (page views, clicks) via Microsoft Clarity. Clarity does not identify you personally.
When you sign in to the Amrutkaal app
We use Google Sign-In. From Google we receive only:
- Your email address.
- Your name (as on your Google profile).
- Your profile picture URL (optional — we don't store it).
We never request or access your Google password, Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or any other Google account data.
When you use the app
You may voluntarily provide:
- Birth details: date, time, and place — used to compute your Kundli.
- Preferred default city and language.
- Questions asked to the AI astrologer.
We also store your computed kundli (planet positions, dasha, nakshatra) and your AI chat history, linked to your account.
How we use your data
- To compute and display your Kundli.
- To answer AI astrologer questions personalized to your chart.
- To show daily panchang for your preferred city.
- To send account-related emails (sign-in codes, security notices).
- To improve the service through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
Who we share data with
We share limited data with trusted service providers who help us operate the service:
- Supabase Inc. — our database and authentication host. Your account data is stored here, encrypted at rest, with row-level security ensuring only you can read your own rows.
- OpenAI — when you chat with the AI astrologer, your question and a summary of your chart are sent to OpenAI's API to generate a personalized response. OpenAI does not use API inputs for training their models.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and CDN. Standard request logs only.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymous analytics on the public site only.
- Google — for sign-in via OAuth.
We may disclose data if legally compelled (court order, regulatory request) under the laws of India.
Data retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active.
- Chat history is kept until you delete it.
- If you delete your account, all related data (profile, kundli, saved cities, chat history) is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act and general privacy standards, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data (view it on the Settings page).
- Correct inaccuracies (edit it on the Settings page).
- Export your data (email us — we'll send a JSON copy).
- Delete your account and all data.
- Opt out of marketing emails (we don't send any yet).
For any of these requests, write to us at hello@amrutkaal.com. We respond within 7 working days.
Security
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Data is encrypted at rest by our database provider.
- Row-level security ensures only you can read your own data.
- We don't store passwords (Google handles authentication).
Cookies
We use essential cookies only:
- To keep you signed in (session cookies).
- To remember your language (en / hi).
No advertising or tracking cookies.
Children's privacy
Amrutkaal is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has signed up, please contact us and we'll delete the account.
International data transfers
Our database servers are primarily in India (Mumbai region). OpenAI API requests are processed in the United States. By using the service, you consent to this cross-border transfer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. For material changes, we'll notify signed-in users via email or an in-app banner. The latest version is always at this URL.
